Space Invaders

by Kolai Faumui
Autobiographical

Amongst the infinite expanse
A lone asterisk danced
Lone
Lone
Lone
Weightless
Prone to the duplicitous draw
of the Black,
that pervades the Black
where light cannot be discerned
Ray & beams can no longer
be dreamed
Banished
Not even Haley returns
A myth?
Asterisk thinks not!
Apocalyptic flames testify
Orbits do not lie
Asterisk
now beholds
intuitively
Big Bang’s
bidding
Pangs of eclipse no more!
Cosmic prattle omitted
Brilliance of will has shone
Exult
Rejoice
The Deep is overthrown
